Frequently asked questions
What are MolDraw templates?
Ready-made chemistry diagrams: reaction mechanisms with curly arrows, name reactions, structure sets, biochemical pathways, spectroscopy sheets, lab apparatus setups and teaching sheets. Each one opens in the MolDraw editor as an ordinary drawing that you can change.
Which templates are free?
The first three templates in every category are free to download as SVG or PNG. Every template, free or premium, can be previewed here and opened and edited in MolDraw at no cost.
How do I use a template in my slides or worksheet?
Open the template page and press Edit in MolDraw. Adjust the drawing, then export it as PNG, SVG or PDF and paste it into PowerPoint, Google Slides, Word or a LaTeX document.
Are the structures and mechanisms correct?
Every structure is checked with RDKit and every curly arrow passes MolDraw’s electron-flow audit. Templates list the textbooks, papers or databases they follow.
Can I use the templates for teaching and publications?
Yes. Use them in lessons, handouts, theses, posters and papers. A mention of MolDraw is appreciated but not required.
