How to compare two molecules for similarity
Short answer: Draw benzene and toluene, then compare them with the Compare plugin.

The steps in text
Step 1: Draw benzene and toluene
- Place a benzene ring on the left.
- Place another one on the right.
- Add a single bond to the top of the right ring.
Step 2: Compare them
- Open the full editor in a new tab.
- Sign in. Install Compare Molecules from Settings, Plugins.
- Draw benzene. Open the Compare tab. Click Add canvas.
- Type Cc1ccccc1 toluene in the SMILES box. Click Add SMILES.
- Come back and click

What is a Tanimoto score?
A number from 0 to 1. A score of 1 means the fingerprints are the same.
