D-Glucose in Fischer projection template

Premium template. Preview and edit it free in MolDraw; downloading and exporting it is part of MolDraw Pro.
Open-chain D-glucose (2R,3S,4R,5R) as a Fischer projection and a skeletal structure, beside its C2 epimer D-mannose, its C4 epimer D-galactose and its enantiomer L-glucose.
What the template shows
- Four stereocentres, C2–C5: the OH on C5 (the lowest) points right, so it is a D-sugar
- D-glucose, open chain
- D-Glucose is (2R,3S,4R,5R): OH right, left, right, right from C2 down. Memory aid: "right, left, right, right".
- Four stereocentres give 2⁴ = 16 aldohexoses: eight D-sugars and their eight L enantiomers.
- Epimers differ at one stereocentre only: D-mannose at C2, D-galactose at C4. Epimers are diastereomers.
- L-Glucose is the mirror image: every centre inverted, so every OH swaps side.
- Wedge = toward you, hash = away from you · every part of this figure is editable
Drawn with 12 atoms, 24 shapes – every one editable in MolDraw.

Frequently asked questions
Is the D-Glucose in Fischer projection template free?
You can preview the D-Glucose in Fischer projection template here and open and edit it in MolDraw for free. Downloading or exporting it is part of MolDraw Pro, together with the other premium templates.
Can I edit the D-Glucose in Fischer projection template?
Yes. It opens as an ordinary MolDraw drawing, so every structure, arrow, label and colour can be changed, and you can add your own content around it.
Is the chemistry checked?
Every structure is checked with RDKit and every curly arrow passes MolDraw’s electron-flow audit. The sources used are listed on this page.
Are the R/S labels in the stereochemistry templates checked?
Yes. Every R/S and E/Z descriptor is computed with RDKit from the drawn structure, so the labels match the wedges and dashes.
