Krebs cycle template

Premium template. Preview and edit it free in MolDraw; downloading and exporting it is part of MolDraw Pro.
Oxaloacetate to oxaloacetate: citrate, isocitrate, α-ketoglutarate, succinyl-CoA, succinate, fumarate and malate with cofactors.
What the template shows
- The citric acid cycle oxidises acetyl-CoA to CO₂ and loads NADH and FADH₂ for the electron transport chain
- succinyl-CoA (R = CoA)
- Per acetyl-CoA: 3 NADH, 1 FADH₂, 1 GTP (or ATP) and 2 CO₂.
- CS = citrate synthase. The two CO₂ leave at isocitrate and α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase.
- Succinate dehydrogenase (FAD) is bound to the inner mitochondrial membrane: it is also complex II.
- Acids are drawn in their neutral form; in the cell they are carboxylate anions (citrate, malate…).
Drawn with 79 atoms, 8 arrows, 1 shape – every one editable in MolDraw.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Krebs cycle template free?
You can preview the Krebs cycle template here and open and edit it in MolDraw for free. Downloading or exporting it is part of MolDraw Pro, together with the other premium templates.
Can I edit the Krebs cycle template?
Yes. It opens as an ordinary MolDraw drawing, so every structure, arrow, label and colour can be changed, and you can add your own content around it.
Is the chemistry checked?
Every structure is checked with RDKit and every curly arrow passes MolDraw’s electron-flow audit. The sources used are listed on this page.
Are the biochemical pathways drawn with structures?
Yes. Pathway templates show the intermediates as structures, with enzymes and cofactors (NAD⁺, FAD, ATP) on the arrows.
