## What the template shows

- Concentrate a salt solution gently, then let crystals form as it cools
- Evaporating dish
- Salt solution, e.g. CuSO₄ filtrate; evaporate to about half
- Water bath
- Beaker of boiling water: gentle, even heat, so the solution does not spit; top it up
- Bunsen burner
- Crystallisation point
- Dip in a glass rod: if crystals form on it as it cools, stop heating. Leave to cool slowly (larger crystals), then filter and dry between filter papers
- Reaction setup
