# AI assistant

> Click AI in the tools row to open the chat. Add your Gemini API key once. Ask it to draw, name or edit structures.

1. Click **AI** in the tools row.
2. Paste your Gemini API key in the panel or in **Settings**, **AI**.
3. Type a request, such as "Draw aspirin".
4. The assistant can place structures on the canvas.

> **Note:** Your key stays in your browser. Google's free tier is enough to try it.

**Do I need to pay for the AI assistant?**
